Mary Loo is a pediatric and an acupuncturist with more than 20 years’ experience in working with children. In this book, she introduces an important , original theory of childhood development that integrates conventional concepts with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles presented in the classical texts.

About the Author:

Mary Loo MD is Assistant Clinical Professor at Stanford University, where she treats children with acupuncture, and teaches acupuncture to medical and pre-med students. She has studied acupuncture in the Orient, Europe and in the USA. She has received extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, in French energetic acupuncture, in auriculotherapy and auriculomedicine, and in Korean hand acupuncture. Dr Loo is at the forefront in using laser acupuncture for research and for the treatment of children. She was the recipient of a National Institute of Health research grant to study the efficacy of lasers in the treatment of children with ADHD.

Dr. Loo received her medical degree from the University of California, School of Medicine, in San Francisco (UCSF), and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota Hospitals. She pursued a postdoctoral clinical fellowship in Behavioral and Development Pediatrics at UCSF. She has also had training in psychotherapy and hypnosis.
