In the first Western educational textbook on acupuncture, Mark Seem offers a lucid view of the body’s energetic, meridian systems and develops a comprehensive approach to both diagnoses and treatment planning in acupuncture.
Acupuncture Energetics opens with a discussion of Eight Principle diagnosis and Five Phase diagnosis, leading toward an integration of the two. The second part of the book deals with the major functions and dysfunctions of the organ systems of acupuncture. Throughout, the author provides a problem-solving framework that enables the practitioner to collect clinical data work with different diagnostic grids, and arrive at appropriate treatment principles and strategies. Finally a workbook section provides clinical cases and self-study exercises keyed to major acupuncture texts in the field.

Praise for Acupuncture Energetics: A Workbook for Diagnostics & Treatment
“While the concept of Acupuncture Energetics breaks completely new ground, the author’s simple and direct approach is in line with pure Traditional Chinese Medicine. This highly original book deserves a place in the curriculum of all schools of acupuncture, regardless of their particular ‘slant.’”
